President’s Message • Spring 2024

President's Message From the desk of Kristen Winters

As we embrace the arrival of spring, I’d like to extend my warmest greetings on behalf of the CPMA Board of Directors. With our association embarking on another year of progress and advocacy, I am grateful for the dedication and support of members, new and old, who have made change possible for podiatrists in Connecticut. Thank you to those who played a crucial role in expanding our scope of practice through grassroots advocacy in the statehouse and by reaching out to your legislators.

Beyond our recent legislative successes, we are looking forward to the return of our highly anticipated Cadaveric Lab. Scheduled for May, this invaluable educational opportunity promises to deepen our understanding and enhance our skills in podiatric medicine. As of now, we are unsure if we will hold another Cadaveric Lab next year, so I encourage you and your team to take advantage of this opportunity while we have it available.

In similar news, I am thrilled to report the resounding success of our recent Radiology Course held on April 16th. Led by the esteemed Dr. Farlyn Charlot, this course exemplified the caliber of education CPMA strives to deliver. The next installment of this course will be held concurrently with our Annual Symposium this fall, ensuring continued opportunities for professional growth and development for medical assistants. This year’s Symposium promises a robust Medical and Office Assistants program alongside a packed agenda – stay tuned for more information soon!

For all the aspiring leaders in our community, we currently have an open board seat. More details will be available soon regarding how to nominate yourself or a peer for this position. Becoming a member of the board offers a platform to shape the future of CPMA and podiatry at large.

As always, thank you for your support and continued efforts. I look forward to connecting with you all at our upcoming events this spring.

In Association,
Kristen Winters, DPM
President, CPMA Board of Directors
