President’s Message Winter 2026

President's Message From the desk of Jesse Parks, DPM

Dear CPMA Members,

As we begin a new year, I am honored to serve as President of CPMA and to continue the important work of advancing podiatric medicine in Connecticut. Our profession faces both opportunity and challenge, and CPMA remains committed to ensuring that podiatrists across our state are supported, represented, and positioned for success.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and members who joined us for our Annual Symposium at Foxwoods Resort Casino back in November. Your participation made the meeting a success. The strength of our association is built on your engagement, and the collaboration we saw at Foxwoods reinforces the impact we can have when we come together.

Building on that momentum, CPMA is expanding opportunities for connection and education. We will be launching quarterly webinars focused on clinical updates, regulatory developments, and practice management insights. These virtual sessions will provide timely, relevant content designed to support your day-to-day practice.

We are also initiating regional networking dinner meetings to strengthen local engagement among Connecticut podiatrists. These gatherings will offer space for meaningful discussion, peer connection, and shared problem-solving. I encourage you to attend and take an active role. Your voice and experience are essential to shaping the direction of our profession.

A new year also brings new leadership. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Board members, Dr. Fernando Pinero and Dr. Michael Szpara. Their leadership and commitment will help guide CPMA as we continue to grow and evolve.

Lastly, advocacy remains central to our mission. CPMA is actively pursuing legislative efforts to initiate an interstate podiatric medical licensure compact. This initiative would enhance professional mobility, improve access to care, and strengthen the position of podiatric medicine within the broader healthcare framework. We will continue to keep members informed as this effort progresses.

CPMA remains committed to advancing our profession through education, advocacy, and meaningful professional connections. I look forward to working alongside you this year as we continue to elevate podiatric medicine and strengthen our collective voice across Connecticut.

Warm regards,
Jesse Parks, DPM
President, CPMA
