President’s Message • Summer 2025
President's Message From the desk of Adam Mucinskas

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying a safe, restful, and well-deserved summer. As we move through the warmer months, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made, celebrate the strength of our community, and look ahead to the exciting opportunities still to come this year.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our 2025 State Membership Meeting at the Glastonbury Boathouse. It was a meaningful evening filled with connection, thoughtful conversation, and key updates on our work, our wins, and what’s ahead for the profession. From valuable insights into our advocacy priorities to the opportunity to catch up with colleagues and exchange ideas, this year’s meeting served as a reminder of the power and purpose of our professional community.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to our guest speakers—David Alper from APMA, our lobbyist Linda Kowalski, and Dr. Michael Fein—who each brought timely expertise and perspectives to the evening. I also want to sincerely thank our generous sponsors: Reliant Compounded Solutions, Abbott Laboratories, Redi-Thotics, Bako Diagnostics, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Their ongoing support allows us to host impactful events that keep our members informed, engaged, and united.
I also want to take a moment to congratulate the CPMA members who were named 2025 Castle Connolly Top Doctors: Dr. Adebola T. Adeleke, Dr. Peter Blume, Dr. David S. Caminear, Dr. Farlyn Charlot, Dr. Jeffrey M. DeLott, Dr. Peter Ferrante, Dr. Gabriel Gambardella, and Dr. John Maiocco. This recognition reflects the outstanding level of care you provide and the excellence you bring to our profession every day. We’re proud to have such dedicated leaders representing podiatric medicine in Connecticut.
CPMA’s advocacy efforts are only as strong as the support behind them—and right now, one of our top legislative priorities is achieving fee parity. Podiatrists deserve equal reimbursement under Medicaid and Medicare when delivering the same care as MDs, and we’re fighting to make that a reality in Connecticut. Your support is essential to that fight. By contributing to our Membership Donation Campaign, you help power the advocacy, public awareness, and legislative engagement needed to protect and advance our profession. Every donation—large or small—makes a difference. It allows us to continue pushing for fair recognition, expand our scope of practice, and ensure podiatry remains a respected and vital part of the healthcare system.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to invite you to our 2025 Annual Symposium, taking place November 7–8 at Foxwoods Resort Casino. This event is the cornerstone of our educational calendar, offering members a weekend of learning, networking, and professional development. With expert-led sessions and opportunities to engage with exhibitors, colleagues, and leaders in the field, it’s an event you won’t want to miss. Be sure to register and take advantage of our CPMA room rate while it lasts. And for those looking to further connect with the community, exhibitor opportunities are still available.
Thank you for all that you do, not only for your patients, but for the future of podiatric medicine in our state. Your engagement is what makes CPMA strong, and I look forward to continuing this work together.
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable rest of the summer.
Warm regards,
Adam Mucinskas, DPM
