President’s Message Spring 2026

President's Message From the desk of Jesse Parks, DPM

President’s Message: From Jesse Parks, DPM

Dear CPMA Members,

As we move into the warmer months, many of us are balancing full patient schedules with planned time away for family and vacations. That makes it even more important to create opportunities to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and stay engaged with the profession in ways that are both meaningful and accessible. These interactions play an important role in strengthening our profession and supporting the care we provide to patients across Connecticut.

One of the ways we are bringing that to life is through our monthly networking dinner series. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Michael Gazes for his leadership in organizing these events. We are working to rotate locations across the state to make participation more accessible, and I encourage you to join us at an upcoming dinner.

We’ve also seen strong momentum in engaging our newer members. Our recent Young Members Dinner was a great success, and I’d like to thank Drs. Fernando Pinero and Michal Szpara for their leadership in making this event possible. Supporting physicians in their first decade of practice remains a priority, and these gatherings are an important step in building those connections early.

On the advocacy front, our industry affairs team, Rome, Smith, & Kowalski, continue to monitor the legislative session closely for any developments that may impact our profession. Their ongoing work ensures that CPMA remains informed, prepared to respond when it matters most.

Looking ahead, we are exploring the possibility of hosting a cadaveric workshop. In the meantime, our quarterly webinar series will continue to provide accessible educational opportunities throughout the year.

Planning is well underway for our Annual Symposium this December, and I’m pleased to share that registration is now open. I encourage you to reserve your spot and join us December 4–5 in Westbrook for two days of learning, connection, and time with colleagues from across the state. The committee is building a strong program, and all members are welcome to be part of the process—we hope to see you there.

Thank you for your continued involvement and support of CPMA. Your engagement is what strengthens our community and advances the profession across Connecticut.

Sincerely,
Jesse Parks, DPM
