President's Message From the desk of Adam Mucinskas

Big things are happening at CPMA, and I want to share with you the exciting opportunities and challenges we’re tackling together to shape the future of podiatry in Connecticut. The commitment to advancing podiatric medicine in our state is stronger than ever, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made. But as always, we face new challenges and opportunities to continue making a difference for our profession and the patients we serve.

First, I would like to take a moment to remember Dr. Michael S. Aronow who passed suddenly on March 11 of this year.  Our thoughts are with his family, colleagues, and all those close to him.

The Radiology Certification Course on March 26 was a great success, thanks to the dedication of those who attended. It was inspiring to see so many of you eager to expand your knowledge and refine your skills in radiation safety and X-ray techniques. The event provided valuable knowledge and hands-on learning opportunities, and we’re proud to have played a part in helping you meet Connecticut’s essential requirements.

As we continue to grow and adapt, I’m excited to announce that CPMA is hard at work organizing two educational seminars this year—one this spring and another later in the fall. These seminars are designed to provide our members with the latest advancements, techniques, and insights in podiatric medicine. Along with these seminars, we’ll be hosting our mid-year membership meeting in early summer or fall, offering members a chance to come together, exchange ideas, and continue strengthening our community.

Our work doesn’t stop there. We are also making strides in planning our 2025 Fall Symposium at Foxwoods Resort Casino on November 7-8. This symposium will be a cornerstone event for our members, bringing together podiatric professionals from across the state for a weekend of learning, networking, and collaboration. It’s a fantastic opportunity to stay at the forefront of podiatry, and I encourage you all to mark your calendars. Our room block and exhibitor opportunities are now available, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this event.

Finally, I want to make a strong call to action regarding our Membership Donation Campaign. As we continue to face important legislative challenges, including Bill 468, which threatens our title as "podiatric physicians," it’s more important than ever that we come together as a community. Your donations support our efforts in advocating for the protection of our practice and the recognition of our profession. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps fund critical advocacy, educational programs, and initiatives that ensure the continued success and growth of podiatry in Connecticut.

We are at a crossroads, but with your support, we can protect the future of our profession and continue providing the highest level of care to our patients. I encourage each of you to consider donating today and to help us continue our mission of advancing podiatry. Your involvement and support make all the difference.

Let’s continue to make 2025 a year of growth, progress, and advocacy. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our profession and the CPMA community.

Warm regards,
Adam Mucinskas, DPM
