After a year away, CPMA welcomes you to reconnect with fellow podiatrists and vendors while learning about the latest in the field of podiatry and healthcare at large. In addition to covering topics like postoperative infection management, diabetic amputation prevention, and crucial Medicare updates, we’ll look at some of the most pressing issues facing all medical professionals today. MEET OUR SPEAKERS

Michael Fein, DPM is Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Connecticut. Dr. Fein is in private practice in Bethel Connecticut and also is affiliated with Connecticut Family Orthopedics and the Morganti Wound Center at Danbury Hospital. Dr. Fein received his Podiatric medical degree from the Temple College of Podiatric Medicine in 1981 and completed his podiatric surgical training in 1982 at the Broad Street Hospital and Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He is board certified in foot surgery.

Karsten Knobloch, MD, FACS, serves as Chief Communication Officer for the International Society for Musculoskeletal Shockwave Therapy. He is a Board Member of the German-speaking society for extracorporeal magnetotransduction and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Knobloch also serves as President of the German-speaking society for DIGEST shockwave therapy. Dr. Knobloch is a Professor of Surgery and the Owner of SportPraxis based in Hannover, Germany. He serves as the principal reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM), The Lancet, and The New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Knobloch is Board Certified in General Surgery, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Hand Surgery, Sports Medicine, and Emergency Medicine.

Dr. David Banach is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University Of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is the Medical Director for the Antibiotic Stewardship Program and Hospital Epidemiologist at UConn Health. His clinical and academic interests are in the prevention and management of healthcare-associated infections, including surgical site infections. He has been in multiple leadership roles in the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America and currently serves as the Vice President of the Connecticut Infectious Diseases Society.

 

Dr. Perry Lin MD is a native of the Chicago Suburbs, he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for an undergraduate degree in Bioengineering. He completed medical school at Rush University in Chicago Illinois and his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He currently is an assistant program director and core faculty member in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus Ohio and Clerkship Director for Internal Medicine for the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. Additionally he serves as the National Co-Chair for Physician Suicide Awareness at the American Association of Suicidology and is part of the Governor's Council at the Ohio chapter of the American College of Physicians. He is nationally recognized and speaks regularly about physician suicide and physician suicide prevention. Most importantly he is the husband of an incredible mother and physician and father of 3 children that keep him on his toes.
